2011 Fantasy Baseball Advanced Statistics: How MoneyStats Can Help You Win Your League

As a fantasy baseball writer, I evaluate countless advanced statistics every day. Most of the time, I get my information from FanGraphs. However, I recently found another useful site in MoneyStats. MoneyStats has created a starting pitcher game log using a “runs received” number to better help you with your starting pitcher decisions. They also track leads/deficits when pitchers exit a game, and no decision totals. Perhaps most valuable is their original MoneyStats Value player rating system. Here is a quick taste of the unique stats MoneyStats has to offer...

Fantasy Baseball Insiders Tonight 5/16: What’s Wrong With Diamondbacks’ Pitcher Dan Haren?

Game No. 24 on the Fantasy Baseball Insiders Tonight trail featured a four-hit, two-homer game from an unsuspecting second baseman, and a rough outing from a usually dominant starter. Game No. 24 – Arizona Diamondbacks vs. Atlanta Braves • Dan Haren was tagged for seven runs (six earned) on eight hits and three walks in 4 1/3 innings Sunday, marking the fourth time he’s given up four runs or more in a start this season. After nine starts, the 29-year-old has an uncharacteristic 4.83 ERA and 1.37 WHIP...

Fantasy Baseball Insiders Tonight 4/9: Rays’ David Price Beats Yankees In Season Debut

New day, new insider. Fantasy Baseball Insiders’ sixth game of the season was the season opener at Comerica Park featuring the Tigers and the visiting Indians. Game No. 6 – Cleveland Indians at Detroit Tigers Friday’s game featured few hits, few strikeouts and one enormous error by third baseman Jhonny Peralta. Grady Sizemore finished with two hits and a stolen base. One of the hits was a rope off the wall for a triple. Grady is now batting .316 on the season and just may be on his way back to prominence...

Brad Penny, Jack Cust Lead Top Spot Starters for Week 26

The final week of the fantasy baseball season is upon us. If you’re reading this, chances are you’ve got a lot to gain (or lose) in the next seven days. It’s important to note that all Yahoo leagues use ERA as it’s first tiebreaker. If you finish the week tied five-to-five, the championship goes to the team with the lowest ERA; there’s no split title. With that in mind, here are a few favorable spot-start matchups this week. Scoop these guys up for a final spot-start and you’ll likely be rewarded with a low ERA and maybe even a win...

Ticket Liquidator

Interest is peaking among those who seek cheap tickets to MLB games, especially the stadiums that fill up fast and sell out quick like Fenway Park seats, cheap Yankees baseball games and the big one in July; the 2011 MLB All-Star Game in Phoenix. Before that, though, don't forget to check out these seats at the College World Series 2011. As we head into spring, there are other sports hitting their high notes, including cheap games at the NBA finals, action in the octagon at a MMA Fight Night and other fight tickets including the 2011 boxing schedule.
