2011 Fantasy Baseball Projections: Why You Should Buy Low on Chicago White Sox’s Alex Rios

After a year in which Alex Rios hit 21 HRs, swiped 34 bases and hit .284 in the middle of a potent White Sox lineup, the 30-year-old center fielder has slumped through the first two months of 2011, posting a pathetic .201/.253/.306 slash with four HRs and four steals in 225 plate appearances. A look at Rios’ advanced stats, however, suggest that now is a great time to buy-low on the 18-HR, 30-steal, .275 three-year average player...

2011 Fantasy Baseball Rankings: The Top 30 Outfielders

Unlike third base and shortstop this year, outfield is extremely deep. In 2010, the average top-40 fantasy outfielder hit 22 homers, stole 20 base, scored 88 runs, knocked in 82 RBIs and hit .285. This speaks volumes to the depth of the position. The likes of Alex Rios, Jacoby Ellsbury, Drew Stubbs, Ichiro Suzuki, Andre Ethier, Jay Bruce, Hunter Pence and Nick Markakis can all be drafted much later in the draft, and offer valuable production. Here’s the top 30...

2011 Fantasy Projections, No. 42: Why Chicago White Sox’s Alex Rios Is Vastly Underrated

After being placed on waivers by the Blue Jays in August of 2009, Alex Rios hit just .199 in 146 at-bats for the White Sox, who claimed his seven-year, $70 million contract. The player who was once thought to be a 30/30 threat was hardly fantasy relevant entering the 2010 season. But despite coming off arguably his worst season as a pro, Rios bounced back in 2010, hitting 21 HRs while swiping 34 bases and batting .284 as the White Sox’s No. 3 hitter. He was especially effective in the first-half (as usual), posting 15 HRs, 23 steals and a .305 average before the All-Star Break....

Interest is peaking among those who seek cheap tickets to MLB games, especially the stadiums that fill up fast and sell out quick like Fenway Park seats, cheap Yankees baseball games and the big one in July; the 2011 MLB All-Star Game in Phoenix. Before that, though, don't forget to check out these seats at the College World Series 2011. As we head into spring, there are other sports hitting their high notes, including cheap games at the NBA finals, action in the octagon at a MMA Fight Night and other fight tickets including the 2011 boxing schedule.
